Building a 12-foot Wooden Bevin Skiff  Row Boat

A team of students transforms a pile of lumber into a beautiful 12-foot rowing boat. Using hand tools, age-old practices and math skills, youth learn the value of collaboration and the pride of completing a project from start to finish. Each project takes approximately 30 project hours to complete. Programs can support in-school curriculum and be articulated for academic credit, or stand alone as an after-school activity. This educational boatbuilding program is best suited for students in grades 5-9 and is structured around working crews of 5-8 youths at a time.

Offered onsite at your school, organization or at AHB shop.
