Apprentice prep

“Boat building makes me feel confident about working.”

~ Sean

The ApprenticePREP Carpentry Training Pathways Program will be a year-long course that will train 12 high school students for entry into a UBC-sponsored apprenticeship program or entry-level carpentry jobs.  The program is being developed in partnership with the Southeast Wisconsin Carpentry Training Center (SEWCTC), the Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership/Big Step, the Milwaukee Building To Learn Consortium of Schools, educational leaders, industry professionals in the skilled trades, and local businesses.  Successful trainees will gain certificates in the CITF Career Connections Level I, OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR/AED, Forklift, Asbestos Awareness, and NCCER Core Curriculum. Graduates will also be provided access to the Apprenticeship Placement Test at the SEWCTC Apprenticeship Center and, upon successful application, the access to 162 contractors in the five core carpentry trades.  Please contact us for further information about ApprenticePREP.
